About
I’m Amanda Beyland, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker — and the founder & owner of Best View Therapy.
With years of experience supporting children, teens, and families, I’ve seen meaningful change happen when kids feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow at their own pace.
I am passionate about helping young people understand and manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Through compassionate support, I strive to foster resilience in children while building effective coping strategies that will empower them to navigate life’s challenges. My approach is centered around creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can grow emotionally and develop essential skills for achieving their personal goals and improving their overall wellness/mental health.
My expertise is in addressing a range of childhood challenges, including anxiety, ADHD, school issues, and life transitions for children ages 5 and up. My dedication to supporting kids also includes collaborating with the caregivers that love them by providing psychoeducation, exploring strategies, and offering support. In addition, I supervise social workers working toward licensure.
I utilize a variety of evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy techniques, expressive therapies, bibliotherapy, and mindfulness. In our work together, you can expect that your treatment plan is tailored to meet your unique needs. My approach blends evidence-based practices with warmth, creativity, and genuine connection. Whether through play, conversation, or collaboration with parents, I work to create a space where growth feels possible and change feels achievable.
When I’m not supporting my clients, you can find me putting on holds at the local library, working my way through all of Alexandria’s best restaurants (and ice cream shops), or scouring the SPCA website.

Why “Best View”?
The name Best View Therapy was inspired by a conversation with one of my young clients. After completing a laddering activity together — a tool we were using to break a big goal down into small, manageable steps — the child looked at me and asked, “What now if I’m already at the top of the ladder?”
I paused, then shared that sometimes when we reach the top, we realize there’s another level — like a lookout tower with more stairs to climb. Each level can offer a different perspective, a clearer or wider view. The child thought for a moment and said, “Oh, okay… I want the best view possible.”
